Jean Bish Noyes Powers

NORTH OXFORD &endash;- Jean (Bish) Noyes Powers, 60, of Thayer Pond Dr., died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, in UMass Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont St., Worcester, after an illness. She is survived by a son, David E. Noyes of Spencer, two daughters, Susan J. Netishen of Hubbardston and Linda L. Gagne of Worcester; her twin brother, James Bish of Vienna, WV; her brother, Thomas Bish of Martinsburg, WV; her grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer, and Anastasia; and her former husband, Richard A. Powers of Clinton. She was predeceased by her former husband, Edward E. Noyes of Oxford, died in 2000. She was born in Charleston, WV, the daughter of the late Harold C. and Edith S. (Garretson) Bish, and lived in Worcester for many years and Leominster for 13 years, before moving to North Oxford 2 years ago. She graduated from Grafton High School in 1960.

Mrs. Noyes Powers was the former property manager at Orchard Hill Estates in Oxford. She was a former member of the Oxford United Methodist Church. She loved genealogy, and traced her family back to the year 1433.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, in Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford (www.paradisfuneralhome.com). Burial will be at a later date in North Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, from 5-8 p.m., in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts, 295 Devonshire St., 4th Floor, Boston, MA 02110.
